Maker Journal August 2025
August was supposed to be my marketing month, but honestly, it didn’t go as planned.
I wanted to push ClipSend harder, but then Craft dropped their official Chrome extension out of nowhere. Since most of my target users are Craft folks, that move basically killed my original plan. I've explored other products that still rely on email-to-create and don’t have a Chrome extension yet, but the options are so limited that I might need to rethink ClipSend’s whole positioning.
On the build side, I started Statify—an automation widget package for Filament. The idea was to make it a plugin, but right now it’s more like a standalone app. I didn’t progress much and lost momentum, so I took some time off. At least I did ship a couple of satellite tools for ClipSend, which I’ll share soon.
The bright side: I discovered some forgotten affiliate sales that actually helped me meet my small product sales target for the year. On top of that, I closed a freelance project that covers me until mid next year. So while I’ve got less time on products, financially I’m covered for now.
That’s pretty much August for me.
