Maker Journal March 2025

Maker Journal March 2025

I'm still working hard on my freelance work, racing towards the unknown deadline. I repeated the same line last month, and the project hasn't launched. The original launch date was the end of February, and now it's already April.

I don't really like the whole situation like this. It makes me can't start any new project, and it really takes up a lot of my time because the requirements keep changing.

So what was done in March, other than the work?

Thanks for the product weekend. At least I have a specific time in the month to do some product work. This round, I finally released my first open-source filamentphp plugin. I felt the same excitement many years ago when I released my first WordPress extension.

In addition, I kicked off a #30DaysOfYouTube campaign, sharing an interesting YouTube video daily for the whole of March. This helped me clear all the pending videos on my Watch Later list and boost traffic to my social media account. I might keep this as a routine and come up with a new challenge every month.

Lastly, due to many reasons and the stress of the freelance project, I made a pretty last-minute decision to have a short staycation with my wife in April. It's a much-needed getaway to free myself from burnout.
