Maker Journal May 2026
May is always a unique month for me because it’s my birthday month.
May 2026 was even more unique. My wife was away for a week, which meant I had to handle all three kids by myself during my birthday month. On top of that, I needed to bring my second boy for a quick trip to KL for his award ceremony, and the kids were also getting ready for their school holidays at the end of the month.
All these translated into a very busy month on the family side. While everything went smoothly, it also meant I had much less time for my own products.
For the first time this year, I didn’t complete my Product Weekend.
I was working on the WebhookHQ idea and managed to get quite a bit done, but I never deployed it to production. Even today, I’m still struggling to decide whether to keep pushing it forward. The idea of an AI-powered webhook inbox or agentic webhook service sounds interesting, but I’m not sure if it’s something I want to maintain long-term as a solo founder.

Another thing I spent some time on was generating package images for Statify using GPT Image 2.0.
I was quite happy with the results, but it unexpectedly triggered another landing page revamp. Looking at the new images made me feel the old landing page no longer aligned with the direction I wanted. The latest version feels much cleaner and more aligned with how I want to present the product.

One small win this month was my sister’s cafe project.
I managed to generate one image every day using GPT Image 2.0, each day with a different concept. Nothing went viral, and there were no major business results, but it was still motivating. It’s been a while since I successfully completed a daily challenge, and seeing 30 days of images lined up together felt pretty satisfying.

So yeah, May was a month filled with family commitments, a lot less product building than usual, and plenty of experimenting with AI-generated visuals.
Not the most productive product month, but definitely a memorable one.
That’s all for my May.
